The new dXL is heavy yet fast and easy to handle. It's the jump rope for the athlete who is not afraid of a 1.5 kg rope to start with. (The one who is, has to chose the dG.) In addition to steel core handles it now has weights built into the upper ends of the middle-section to ensure extra swing and a strong pull due to the centrifugal force. The maximum weight of the new dXL is slightly less than that of the previous version but it's now heavier right out of the box due to the built in pins. I decided against adding more pins to the rope because it makes more sense to vary speed, skipping techniques and intensity to work on the upper body. For example doing double-unders or just holding the handles in the overhand grip for a couple of minutes is similar to using a 3 kg rope – sort of. (The dXL maximum weight version with extra pins is also still available.) Please take a look at our skipping techniques and see what is all possible to get more impact without more weight.  |
